Anthony Jeselnik (December 22, 1978) is an American producer, writer, actor, and comedian. After the broadcast of his stand-up special on Comedy Central Presents in 2009, Jeselnik was recognized as one of the year's breakout comedians by the network, along with Nick Kroll, Aziz Ansari, Whitney Cummings, Donald Glover, Matt Braunger, T. J. Miller, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jon Lajoie. In 2010, he started working as a writer for the Comedy Central Roasts after releasing his first album, Shakespeare. Thoughts and Prayers, Jeselnik's third stand-up special, was released in 2015 and was his first for Netflix. The first forty minutes of the hour-long presentation feature Jeselnik's signature dark humor, while the last twenty minutes feature personal experiences. The loss of his grandmother, the bombing of the Boston Marathon, the cancellation of The Jeselnik Offensive, and death threats all make an appearance in his conversation.
